Police Department

The New Tazewell Police Department was created in early 1969 with a two man force. Walter (Flop) Jennings was the first Police Chief. In the early part of 1990, Johnny Johnson was promoted to the position of Police Chief. Chief Johnson Retired June 2014. Ben Evans was promoted to Chief of Police. Gary Ruszkowski is the Detective for the New Tazewell Police Department.

Today New Tazewell is a 10 man force.
